Angel Auto Success Story #2

Our second Angel Auto Network success story is Serena Dudley. She is a self-employed, full-time hair stylist from Dayton. Serena is a resident of the Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority and a volunteer worker for the YWCA women’s program.

She began her journey with the CDCRC in October 2007. She had completed all 3 required financial literacy classes and had already begun to increase her income and improve her credit. She also purchased her car (a 97 Subaru Legacy) in December 2007.

Serena was our first client who took advantage of a new automobile purchase program set up for our clients through the Wright-Patt Credit Union. She not only received a dependable car, but she also used her new loan to continue re-establishing her credit through a reputable financial organization.

When asked about her experience, Ms. Dudley stated that “the CDCRC and Dayton-Xenia Auto took the time necessary to help empower her to change her financial status and her outlook on life.” She further stated that she was grateful to be considered a success story and an example of a person who has overcome so many financial obstacles.

Her future goals include: owning her own business and publishing a book on how to overcome many of life’s obstacles. She is looking forward to continuing to work with the CDCRC in order to fulfill these goals as well.
